My first dissection of this word I found a passage that relates greatly from Mathew 10:30-40, Every hair on your head has been counted. Don’t be afraid! You are worth more than many sparrows. “So I will acknowledge in front of my Father in heaven that person who acknowledges me in front of others. But I will tell my Father in heaven that I don’t know the person who tells others that he doesn’t know me. “Don’t think that I came to bring peace to earth. I didn’t come to bring peace but conflict. I came to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A person’s enemies will be the members of his own family. “The person who loves his father or mother more than me does not deserve to be my disciple. The person who loves a son or daughter more than me does not deserve to be my disciple. Whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow me doesn’t deserve to be my disciple. The person who tries to preserve his life will lose it, but the person who loses his life for me will preserve it. “The person who welcomes you welcomes me, and the person who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. (Matthew 10:30-40 GW)

This sends such a powerful message.  That we must follow God with our whole hearts and that we are so important to him.  He know us so well and finds us to be worthwhile.  I especially liked in this passage how it talks about how he didn’t expect there to be peach but there there would be conflict.  In order for there to be complete conviction in something you have to take a stand for it and you have to fight for what you believe in.

In this passage God is saying that we are all important and we need to stand up for our beliefs in god and you aren’t always going to have peace and people may not agree with you but if you stand up God will be there and what is more important than that right? Every person is important and needs to know that. I know I forget it all the time about myself and that was my whole purpose of this exercise. I’m excited to see what god will teach me this year through this word, worth.
